If you're worried about how the Gulf oil spill, our friend's over at Mote Marine Laboratory are keeping up with environmental updates that let you know how the spill is effecting our area of the Gulf Coast and Bay. Click here and then click on Manatee County or Sarasota and then, click on the green dot for the specific beach you'd like to know about. It gives a list of different environmental factors that might effect your stay. Thankfully, right now the current conditions reported as of 5/22/10 for Anna Maria Island are that we are not experiencing effects of the oil spill. This is a very neat tool for locals as well as those looking to vacation or come for a day.
